CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING

Were Married in Norway-Have Lived Thirty Years in Roland

Roland, June 27.-Thursday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Askild S. Skromme celebtrated their fiftieth anniversary of their marriage, which took place in Norway, June 25, 1864. Thirty years ago, they came to this country coming directly to Roland, where they have since resided. Shortly after coming there they purchases a farm three miles east of town, where they have lived with the exception of a few years, that they have lived in town. Eleven children have been born to this venerable couple, seven of whom are alive and were present at the golden jubilee. They are Severt Skromme, of Lee, Ill.; Mrs. Ole J. Orton, of Ortley, S. D.; Lars J. Skromme, of Thief River Falls, Minn.; Mrs. J. A. Christian, of Roland, Iowa, Ole Skromme, of Crystal Lake, Iowa; Misses Linda and Carrie Skromme, of Roland. About fifty neighbors and relatives participated in the happy event today, which all joined in wishing the respected couple many happy years of wedded life.
