Archie V. Witmer was born April 16, 1890. On March 25, 1909 he married Viola S. Link, who was born November 11, 1887. They lived on their farm in the Loring community for 56 years. Archie died November 24, 1968 and Viola died February 12, 1965. They were the parents of three children:

Carroll 'Cap' R. was born September 16, 1910 and is a graduate forester from Iowa State College at Ames. Cap is a veteran of WWII, serving in the Seabees. He was Area Foreter at Shimek State Forest near Farmington, Iowa. Cap is retired and works at his hobbies of woodworking and growing roses. He has made many clocks and other articles using Iowa's native hardwood. Cap married Regina Olabry. They have one son - Robert Carroll.

Harriet Elaine was born November 29, 1917 and married Richard E. Green. They lived and farmed in the Peoria community until 1976 when they moved to their new home in Altoona, Iowa They have one son - Dale - born March 11, 1942.

Marold H. was born October 29, 1920 and lives southwest of Maxwell on part of the Witmer farm. Marold is an Air Force veteran of WWII. He married Arlene Hubbard in 1947.They have two children - Judy Ann born August 13, 1951 and Stephen H. born March 7, 1956.
