As close as I can find Berend died the fore part of Nov of 1892. The family came through Ellis Island Oct 21, 1892. It is reported he died shortly after coming to the USA. I could not find his death in the newspapers.
Here is his wife's (Mrs. Art Mulder) obituary.

Rites Here For Aged Resident,
Mrs. Art Mulder Sr., 94
Mrs. Art Mulder Sr.,One of Alton's, very oldest residents, died Sunday, Jan. 5th at the age of 94 years, one week and two days. In ill health and confined to her home for the past fifteen years, she was a patient and cheerful invalid,
loved by family, neighbors and friends.
Mrs. Mulder was able to enjoy a birthday party at her home Dec. 27th when many friends, neighbors and relatives came in to wish her a happy birthday. Shortly after the party she became quite ill and grew weaker until her passing. Hermina Van Beek was born Dec. 27, 1862 Ede, Holland.
She was married to Berend Borgers in 1880(1881)^ and five children were bom to this union, of whom only one, Hattie, Mrs. Mills of Primghar, survives. The other children were Everet, Gerrit, Marie (Mrs. Gerrit Brower of Hartley) and Dena,
Mr. Borgers died shortly after the family came to the United States. (Came Nov 21, 1892 Ellis Island) In 1894 she was married to Art Mulder at Hospers, lA. The children, farmed in O'Brien county until their retirement.
They moved to. Alton in 1920. Five sons were bom to this union: John of Alton, Ray of Elkton, S. DaK., William of Bryant, S.D., Art Jr* of Alton and Herman of Pawnee, Okla. There are '28 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.
Mr. Mulder 'dled' Mar 5, 1956 . .Mrs. Mills has devotedly cared for. her mother the past years.
Funeral services were held at the Van Etten funeral parlors Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Mark Witmer officiating and all the children present. Dinner was served at the Dores Vrieze home and lunch at the Art Mulder Jr. home.
Interment was in Nassau township cemetery here. Ballbearers were six grandsons, Bernard Borgers, Dale Brower of Royal, Darwin and Dale Mulder of Alton, Erwin Mulder of Bryant, S.D. and Wallace Mulder of Sioux City.
Present for the rites from a distance were Messrs. And 'Mesdames Herman Mulder of Pawnee, Okla,, Ray Mulder, Elkton, S.D.; Orville Mulder, Brookings, S.D., D. B. Mulder, Bryant, S.D., Erwin Mulder, De Smet, S.D., Wm. Mulder, Wallace Mulder, all of Sioux City, John Broeker, Harris, Wilbur Mills, Ed Pierce, Albert Wulf, and Miss Lillian Stubbendick,
all of Primghar; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Nebben and Ginger, Norwalk; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schuver, Sanborn, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Kool, Leeds; Mrs. Rondo Hoick, Ruthton, Minn., Mrs. A. S. Martin, Bernard Borgers, Sioux Falls, Gerrit Brower of Hartley and Dale Brower, Royal, Mrs..Jim Kool, Boyden; besides many relatives and friends from neighboring towns and this vicinity.
Due to a misunderstanding Mrs. Mulder's obituary was not obtained in time for our last issue.
I have found Berend and Hermina's marriage record in Holland, do you want that? I have found several family records on ancestry.com where it was listed the family came Oct 21, 1892, and he died Nov. 1892. I have a few more ideas that will take some time to pursue to find his death date. Will report when complete.
