Sioux Center News, Sioux Center, Iowa, USA June 28, 1978

Rock Valley - Fred Yunker, 82, of Rock Valley, died June 19 at a hospital in Sioux Falls of injuries suffered Sunday evening in an auto accident in Rock Valley.

Services were at 2 p.m. last Thursday in the Hudson Lutheran Church at Hudson, South Dakota. The Rev. Gary Garnatz officiated. Burial was in the Edon Cemetery at Hudson with the Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley in charge.

Mr. Yunker was born April 29, 1896, at Rock Valley. He married Stena Toft January 5, 1923, at Hawarden.

He was a veteran of World War I. He served as a board member of the Colonial Nursing Home at Hudson.

Survivors include the widow; a son, Marlowe of Rock Valley; three daughters, Mrs. James (Arlene) Van Drimmelen of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. William (Leah Ellen) Drecktrath of Berlin, Wisconsin and Mrs. Donale (Beverly) Staude of Green Bay, Wisconsin; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Grau of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Walter (Clara) Durscher of West Union, and Mrs. Gordon (Verna) Mosby of Elgin; and eight grandchildren.
