John Ostermann

John Ostermann, 72, Sylvan Grove, died Thursday at Asbury Hospital.

Mr. Ostermann, a longtime resident of Sylvan Grove, was a cabinet-maker and owned Ostermann's Cabinet Shop. He was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Sylvan Grove. He had been active in sports and managed a softball team in Sylvan Grove.

Survivors are the widow, Hiemke, of the home; two brothers, Adolph, Lucas; and Alfred, Worthington, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Hilda Drunagle, Pittsburg; two sons, Gerdis, Mission; and Donald, Sylvan Grove; and three daughters, Mrs. Doris Hillmer, Hutchinson; Mrs. Arlene Jordan, Sylvan Grove; and Mrs. Lucille Meyer, Sylvan Grove.

The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 pm in the Sylvan Grove Lutheran Church, the Rev. Edwin F. Peter, officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery.
