Services for Layn J. Case, age 24, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Paullina who passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at MercyOne in Cedar Falls, Iowa. His funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church in Paullina with Rev. Dr. Verlyn Boone, officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date.

Visitation with family present will be from 4 to 6 P.M. on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

Layn Joseph Case, the son of David and Sara (Moody) Case was born on August 11, 2000, in Orange City, Iowa. He graduated from South O’Brien High School in 2019. After graduation he furthered his education at the University of Northern Iowa, graduating in January of 2024. After graduation he worked as a claims coordinator. Layn passed away at MercyOne in Cedar Falls on January 1, 2025.

Layn was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a big fan of Nebraska football. He had a vast knowledge of sports teams. He enjoyed his dogs, cooking, knowing weird facts about anything and everything, rock music, Star Wars, Legos, wings as he could eat many, weekends at the lake, playing X-Box with friends, Guitar Hero, as he was a pro, avid movie watcher and critic and loved bones and everything about anthropology and archeology.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, David Case and Sara Case; siblings, Alicia, Amber, Ethan, Isaac, and Carter; grandparents, John and Joni Carlberg and Jeannie and Brad Moody; aunts and uncles. Michelle and Mark Wilson, Buffey and Shawn Weigel, Deanna and Matt Sellers and Missy and James Hedinger; cousins, Anthony, Tristan, Blake, Brendan, Hayden, Zury, Shelby, Lainee and Mallory, Alyssa, Reid and Ali; niece, Willow; significant other, Wylee Sickelka; also, other relatives and friends.

Layn was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edd Case and uncle, Todd Moody.
