Died.
MARS—At Hornick, Io., Saturday, March 12, 1898, Lurje (correction: Lutje) Mars, aged 77 years, 10 months and 21 days.

Deceased was born in Holland and removed to Marion county, Iowa, when 35 years of age. From there he went to Oregon, residing there six years. He then returned to Iowa, locating in Sioux county. For the past seven years, he has resided at Hornick, where he had the respect of the entire community. He was recognized as a student particularly well versed in general history, and he paid great attention to the questions of American politics. He was the senior member of the hardware firm of Mars & Son.
