Altena, Ladene E., Mrs. Sentner 1928-2024

Ladene E. Altena, age 96, of Centerton, Arkansas, formerly of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024.
A family gathering will be held at 10 AM, Friday, February 16 at Coffman Funeral Home followed by a procession to White Church Cemetery for a graveside service at 11:15 AM. Pastor Bert Pohl will officiate. 
Pallbearers are Taylor Davis, Aaron Rozeboom, Tim denHollander, James denHollander, and Jasper denHollander.

Ladene Eleanore was born January 13, 1928, in Orange City, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Anna (DeJong) Muilenburg. She was raised on the family farm near Maurice, Iowa and attended elementary and high school in Maurice. She then attended Northwestern Junior College for two years and became a teacher.

She married Sentner James Altena on January 1, 1948. They farmed near Hawarden and Sioux Center, Iowa before moving to Hull, Iowa to start Altena Electric together. Sentner passed away on August 30, 2011, after 63 years of marriage. 
Ladene enjoyed people, playing cards, golf, and gardening. Spending time with her family was her joy. 

Survivors include daughters, Evonne Rozeboom (Gerrit) and Cindy Richardson (Rich); son, Mike Altena (Belinda); 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Harriet Harmelink; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Ladene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Wanda Brisco; grandson, Grant Van Veldhuizen; a brother, Wallace Muilenburg; sister, Joyce Booher and her twin sister, Lois DeJong.
