Funeral services for Gordy Rohrs, age 75, of Paullina, who passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Orange City Area Health System. His funeral service will be 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown, with Rev. Carl Stenzel, officiating.

Burial with military honors by Russell West Post of the Paullina American Legion will be at Prairie View Cemetery in Paullina.

Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

Gordon Harry Rohrs, the son of Harry and Helga (Paulsen) Rohrs, was born on December 18, 1948, in Primghar, Iowa. He attended St. John Lutheran School through the 8th grade and graduated from Paullina High School in 1967. After graduation he furthered his education at Northwest Iowa Community College in powerline. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1969, serving a year in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1970. During his career, Gordy farmed, worked for Mapco, Penning Pork, PCI Construction, and retired in 2011. Gordy and Shirley Kluender were united in marriage on June 29, 1996, at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his grandchildren playing, hunting, fishing, farming, traveling, and most of all the Minnesota Vikings.

Gordon passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Orange City Area Health System reaching the age of 75 years, 3 months, and 2 days.

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and Russell West Post of the Paullina American Legion.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley of Paullina; children, Brenda (Mike) Lund and Brent Ebel, all of Paullina; grandchildren, Zac and Shay Lund and Jaden (fiancé, Colin Schettler); one great grandson, Reyd; two sisters, Joyce Craig of Paullina and Ruth Schopke of Wakefield, Nebraska; also, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Gordy is preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Clarence, and Edna Kluender, two brothers, Gerald and Wesley Rohrs, brother-in-law, Howard Craig, and a niece and nephew.
