Joseph "Joe" Terrell
February 28, 1955 — April 22, 2024
Rock Valley, Iowa

Joseph "Joe" R. Terrell, 69, of Rock Valley, Iowa, was joyously ushered into the presence of our Lord in Benton, Missouri, on April 22, 2024.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Grace Community Church in Rock Valley (1616 18th Street) with Daniel Parks officiating. Lunch will follow at the Faith Reformed Church Family Life Center.

Joe was born in Key West, Florida, on February 28, 1955, the third child and only son of Raymond L. Terrell, a Navy man, and Martha (Little) Terrell. They lived in various places on the East Coast, then settled in West Virginia. From his father, Joe learned basic mechanics and patience, and from his mother, he learned about Jesus, and also, how much he enjoyed a home-cooked meal.

After high school, Joe attended Word of Life Bible Institute, followed by Cedarville College. It was also when he found his future darling wife, Bonnie Harrison. After graduating in 1977, they married. He spent several years under the hearing of the Gospel, then embarked on preaching the "unsearchable riches of Christ" in a small Kentucky church.

While in West Virginia and Kentucky, they had three children. Then, in 1987, he was called to a small group of the Lord's saints in Rock Valley, Iowa, as their preacher. He faithfully served that church for almost 37 years, until his death.

He would not call his service "work”, or the souls that God called through him an "achievement”, but it was to him his life's joy to tell about the One he loved.

He is survived by and sorely missed by his wife, Bonnie, and three children, Ben Terrell (Sherrylee), Nathan (Sara) Terrell, and Mary Morrell, and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
