Rock Valley, IA: Christine (De Zeeuw) Van Maanen, 97, of Rock Valley, Iowa, died Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Whispering Heights of Rock Valley. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 1, at 11:00 AM at Faith Reformed Church of Rock Valley with Pastor Mike Molenaar and Chris Van Beek officiating. The service will be livestreamed at www.faithrv.com. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery of Rock Valley. Visitation, with the family present, will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 AM at Faith Reformed.

Memorials may be directed to Hope Haven (https://www.hopehaven.org/). Porter Funeral Home of Rock Valley has been entrusted with funeral arrangements for Christine.

Christine (Jansen) De Zeeuw Van Maanen was born near Perkins, Iowa to Christian and Cornelia (Kate Van Donkelaar) Jansen on March 16, 1927. She attended Perkins Christian School and Hull Christian School. Christine graduated from Western Christian High School. After high school she was employed at Valley State Bank until she married Stanley De Zeeuw on February 4, 1948. Stanley passed away on November 29, 1962, due to a heart attack. To this union four children were born: Lyle, Dianne, David, and Sylvia. Christine was widowed for twenty years until she married Ed Van Maanen on November 15,1982. They farmed and retired near Doon, Iowa. Ed passed away on September 3, 2011. Christine moved to Four Seasons Retirement Home in Rock Valley, Iowa following Ed's death.

Christine loved being with her family, especially the week spent at Lake Okoboji each summer. She left them with a legacy of faith and commitment.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Lyle & Helen De Zeeuw, Dianne & Arlo Van Kley, Sandi Koldenhoven, and Sylvia & Ron Kiel; her stepchildren: Everret & Hedy Van Maanen, Joan Post, Mary Ann & Earl De Bey, Linda & Bruce Kooima, Marvin & Melinda Van Maanen, Randy & Sue Van Maanen, and Brad Van Maanen; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Johanna Int Veld; brother, Gerrit Jansen; her two husbands; son, David De Zeeuw; and stepsons-in-law, Marvin Post and Rick Koldenhoven.
