Syne Bierma, age 99, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 29, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Bierma; his daughter, Violet Bierma; his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his children, Royce Bierma, Garth and Margaret Bierma, Heather and Lee Mulder; his grandchildren, Paulina, Christy and Nick, Nicole, Dylan, Allie, Amber; his 9 great grandchildren and one on the way; his sister-in-law, Frieda Bierma; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Syne was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He faithfully attended and participated in many aspects of Hillcrest CRC for 58 years. He served in the US Army Air Force during WWII. He was one of the founding teachers at Unity Christian High School where he taught for 27 years.

Funeral services for Syne will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Hillcrest Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Dr. Howard Vanderwell officiating. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at VanderLaan Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Unity Christian High School or Right To Life.
