Frances Wynia, age 92, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center.

Family and friends may gather at 9:30 AM on Monday, February 12th, at Centerpoint Church in Sioux Center, Iowa. There will be a prayer service at 10:00 AM followed by the burial in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 12th, at Centerpoint Church, with Reverend Roger Voskuil officiating.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the Wynia family prefers memorials to be directed to: Words of Hope, 700 Ball Avenue NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

Johanna Frances Wynia was born November 25, 1931, to Frank and Johanna (Rodenburgh) Wynia on the family farm near Maurice, Iowa. She attended Center Township #5 rural school through the eighth grade and attended high school at the Sioux Center Community School. After graduating in 1951 she was employed as bookkeeper at Vander Ploeg's Furniture. In July 1952 she joined the staff at the First National Bank, Sioux Center until her retirement.

Frances was a member of the First Reformed Church (now known as Center Point Church) where she taught Sunday School for several years. She was also a faithful member of the Rebekah Circle for many years. She was a volunteer Instructor for Crossroad Bible Institute, Grand Rapids, MI for several years.

She enjoyed traveling by car and tour bus throughout the states and overseas. Her favorite pastimes were reading, embroidering, and counted cross-stitch.

Frances is survived by her nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law; Louis and Anna Wynia, Cornie and Jeanette Wynia, Martin and Wilmina Wynia, and Melvin and Arlene Wynia, sister, Tena Wynia, nephews and niece, Corwin Wynia, Gracia Vander Velde, and Clifford Wynia, and sister-in-law, Jean Wynia.
