Mrs. Linda Egdorf, age 82, of Orange City, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, at her home in Orange City.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, January 27, at 10:30am, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Orange City, with the Rev. Thomas Batchelder officiating. Following a time of lunch and fellowship, interment will take place at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery near Hull. The Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City is in charge of arrangements.

Linda was born on August 27, 1941, the only child of George and Pearl (Broesch) Lettengarver. She was raised near May City and graduated from the Hartley High School in 1959. She then continued her education at St. Luke’s College of Nursing in Sioux City, graduating in 1966.

On October 16, 1966, she was united in marriage to Arlan “Butch” Egdorf, at the St. John Lutheran Church in May City. They made their home in Orange City, where she worked as a nurse and served in numerous departments of the Orange City Area Health System. She retired from the hospital on April 27, 2007.

Mrs. Egdorf was baptized and confirmed at the St. John Lutheran Church in May City and was a founding member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Orange City. In earlier years, she and Butch also served on the EMT squad for the Orange City Hospital. As a couple, they enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobile racing, and spending time with their friends, family, and dogs, especially their most recent pet, Bailey.

Survivors include her husband’s siblings, Ronald Egdorf, and his wife, Tylene, of Sanborn; June Van Dyk, of Sheldon; Janice Kuiper, of Fort Dodge; Carol, and her husband, Bill Ferguson, of North Ridgeville, Ohio; Arlene, and her husband, LeRoy Woelber, of Boyden; Kathleen, and her husband, Lawrence Sohl, of Hull; and Candace Gross, of Grand Island, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Egdorf and Henrietta Egdorf, both of Sheldon; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers-in-law, Eugene Egdorf, Dennis Egdorf, Dan Van Dyk, John Kuiper, and Jim Gross.

Memorials will be given to the Faith Lutheran Church in Orange City.
