Word was received here by K. Landman the latter part of last week that T. Poel of Chancellor SD, had died. Mr. and Mrs. John Wynia, Miss Rowena Wynia and Mrs. K. Landman departed Saturday to attend the funeral of their uncle. Mr. Poel was sheriff of Sioux County in the early settlement of this county.
Another article – Alton news Mrs. Stephen Eason received word Friday of the death of her brother Peter (Tiete) Poel. Who died in a hospital in Sioux City. Mr. Poel was formerly a citizen of Alton and is well known to many people here. His home is at Chancellor SD, and the funeral was held Monday.

He was the son of Stephanus Weibe’s Pool 1820-1897 and Hijlkje Bosgra. His wife was Janeke Wynia 1852-1931, Children listed were – Lillie Hoekstra, Anna Darrow, Oscar C. Pool, Cornelia Pool, Cora Hilbrands.
