Ruby Webb, 91, of Hawarden, IA, formerly of Akron, IA, and Morganton, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden, Iowa.

There will be no local services. Interment will be at a later date at the Burkemont Baptist Cemetery in Morganton, North Carolina. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Akron, Iowa. Expressions of sympathy can be extended to the family through www.rexwinkelfh.com.

Ruby Mae Dale was born on July 1, 1932 in Morganton, North Carolina to Russell and Minnie (Crawley) Dale. She attended school at Salem High School in Morganton and then began working a factory job. Ruby was united in marriage the 11th of July in 1954 to Murray Donald Webb and made their home in Morganton, North Carolina. She then began working in healthcare industry. Donald passed in 1982 and Ruby moved to Akron, Iowa in 2005 to be closer to her daughter. She moved to Mica Hill Assisted Living in Hawarden in 2018 and in July of 2023 she became a resident at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Hawarden.

Ruby loved to travel; she traveled across the United States and took several cruises. She enjoyed church social activities and was a longtime member at Burkemont Baptist Church in Morganton, North Carolina and later at First Baptist Church in Akron. Over the years she crocheted and knitted many blankets. Ruby also loved to shop; she enjoyed beautiful clothes and had many pairs of shoes!

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Doris (Greg) Cornish of Akron, IA; grandchildren: BJ Cornish of Akron, IA, Brett (Dana) Cornish and their children, Maddie and Liam of Mason City, IA, and Ashley (Bo) Burleson and their children, Brandon, Leland and Emmit, of Bostic, North Carolina; and other extended relatives.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; daughter, Barbara Mobley; brother, Clarence Dale; and sister, Lena (Paul) Smith.
