SAN CLEMENTE, CA—It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Lisa Jeanine (Hulst)
Bailey. Lisa took her last breath in her sleep at her home in San Clemente, California, on Sept. 28,
2023.

Lisa was born on May 24, 1958, in Orange City, Iowa, to Nick and Mabel (Houtsma) Hulst. Her early
childhood years were spent in Paullina, Iowa, until 1969, when the family moved to Rock Valley,
Iowa. She graduated from Rock Valley High School in 1976. During her high school years, she
enjoyed being a cheerleader for the Rockets but mostly she enjoyed the many music, band and
drama activities she was involved in.

After graduating she attended Bauder Fashion College in Arlington, Texas, studying fashion
merchandising and sales; graduating in the class of 1978. Following her passion for fashion
merchandising and the garment industry, she moved to Los Angeles, California, in the summer of
1978. While searching for a job she worked as a budding model and actress, appearing on several
TV shows such as “General Hospital” and “Facts of Life.” She soon landed a job in her field of study
as a successful sales representative for an international women’s fashion company called Judy Ann of California. During Lisa’s early sales career, she met her husband, Jeff Bailey, who she ultimately married in November 1981.

Lisa and Jeff went on to have two daughters and a son, Jennifer (Bailey) Riggs, Jessica (Bailey)
Randhawa and Jordan Bailey. Lisa and Jeff subsequently divorced in 1993, Lisa never remarried.
Lisa’s children currently reside in California with their families.
She struggled for many years with alcoholism, which contributed to her poor health and ultimately untimely death at the age of 65.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Mabel Hulst, and her ex-husband, Jeff Bailey.

Survivors include her three children, Jennifer, Jessica and Jordan; her four grandchildren, Octavian Randhawa, Lucas Riggs, Parker Riggs and Jade Bailey; her siblings, Ronald (Linda) Hulst,
Cassville, Wisconsin; Victoria Gregson of Tucson, AZ; and Mark (Kay) Hulst of Orange City, Iowa;
and nine nieces and nephews.

A private memorial will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, with her ashes spread over the ocean she
loved in Marina del Rey, California
