Translated:
Mr. Wynand Jansen died Wednesday night in the age of 74 years. The deceased had been more or less indisposed for some time, and had been bedridden for the last few days, yet no one suspected that the end was so near, He lived only in the back part of Febus's shop, and was sent to the next day by Mrs. S. S J. Meyer, who wanted to get him some food, was found dead in bed. About 43 years ago he came with his family from Holland and settled in Lincoln NE. Later they lived at Yankton SD, and 36 years ago they came here where Mr. Jansen had been employed as a carpenter and was well known as such. Of their children they were allowed to keep only one daughter, who was taken from them by death in 1906. Two years later his wife also died, and since then he has lived in solitude. He leaves no family here in the country, and has rendered his many services to the carpenter E. Marra, for whom he often used to work. The funeral service took place on Friday from the church of the C. G. Gem., at which meeting a message was spoken by Rev. Timmemann
