Mr. Isaac Toering, age 35, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, formerly of Orange City, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

A visitation with the family present will be held on Sunday, January 7, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, at the Immanuel Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. There will be a funeral service on Monday, January 8, at 10:30am, at the church with the Rev. Cody Statema officiating. Following a time of lunch and fellowship, interment will take place at the Hospers Cemetery near Hospers. The Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City is in charge of arrangements.

Isaac Tyler was born on July 7, 1988, in Sioux City, the son of Marvin and Linda (De Haan) Toering. He was raised in Orange City, where he attended the Orange City Christian School and Unity Christian High School. After graduating from high school in 2007, he enrolled in the culinary arts program at the Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon. The following year, he moved to Sioux Falls, where he worked at various jobs related to food service.

Isaac “Bam Bam” was very involved with the Keeping Kids In outDoor Sports (KKIDS) Foundation in Lyons, South Dakota, and was particularly excited about participating in their fishing events. He also volunteered his time at the South Dakota Outdoor Adventure Foundation in Lyons, helping to provide hunting and fishing adventures for terminally ill children and disabled veterans. He liked to play pool, throw darts, and sing karaoke. He also enjoyed watching football, and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his parents, Marv and Linda Toering, of Orange City; six siblings, Marvin Toering, Jr., and his wife, Katie, of Sheldon; Miranda, and her husband, Brandon Reisma, of Fort Myers, Florida; Michael Toering, and his wife, Cayla, of Orange City; Tabatha Toering, and her significant other, Jayson Kelley, of Worthing, South Dakota; Mark Toering, and his wife, Melissa, of Hospers; and Mikeal Hines, of Sioux City; sixteen nieces and nephews, James Toering, Lincoln Toering, Evelyn Steffen, Tony Schwebach, Jacob (Josiah) Harvey, Rynelle Reisma, Kalia Reisma, Braelynn Lesline, Kinzley Toering, Jayvin Toering, Cambreigh Toering, Brooklynn Klima-Toering, Kaydence De Haan, Ollyver De Haan, JC Kelley, and Shaylee Langley; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who were like family to Ike.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mince and Nellie Toering; his maternal grandparents, Albert and Jennie De Haan; and a nephew, Attycus Toering.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to KKIDS Foundation.
