Mrs. Claus Lutjens died at her home near Hull on Sunday, Deceased was a cousin of H. E. Collins who went to Hull Wednesday to attend the funeral.

Mrs. Claus Lujtens Passes Away. Mrs. Claus Lutjens passed away at her home about four miles northeast of Hull on Saturday at 11.45 p.m. She was married just one year ago last Wednesday this being the day on which her remains were laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery northeast of Hull. Only one short year of married life in one of the most beautiful homes acquired by her husband and herself, in Lincoln township, seems to the fate muted to this happy couple.
She was a lady loved by all her acquaintances and will be greatly missed in their community. A very large concourse of relatives and friends followed the remains to the Lutheran church where an appropriate and very beautiful sermon was preached by Rev. P. J. Bunge. An obituary is being prepared for this paper next week. The Inde for this paper next week. The Index joins the entire community in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved husband and relatives.

Mrs. Louis Anna Lutjens was born the 28th day of February 1890 in Harper, IL being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Arends. She was baptized the 26th of May 1891 in Evangelical Lutheran Church near Boyden and attended school at Matlock in the neighborhood of which town her parents then lived. Two years ago she with her parents moved to Sibley IA, where she was confirmed the 2nd of Nov 1913 in the Lutheran church at Sibley, IA. In the same church on the 17th of Dec last years, she was united in marriage to Mrs. Claus Lutjens whereupon they went to their new home near Hull.
On the day preceding Thanksgiving the Lord gave them a little daughter, but soon she became dangerously ill, having contracted pneumonia which later affected the heart. Monday the 7th of Dec, being yet of clear consciousness she gladly longed for the Holy communion, she confessed her sins, confessed of her love and faith in Jesus Christ and was strengthened by the Lord’s Supper.
A few days later , after great suffering, after all that doctors, nurses and loving hands could do to subdue her illness, but calmly and most peacefully under the prayers and blessings of her church, she passed away in the peace of Jesus at 11:30 p.m. on the 12th day of December, her age being 24 years 9 months and 14days.
The mourning survivors are the husband Claus Lutjens and infant daughter Louise Francis, per parents Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Arend, six brothers and sister and many friends and relatives.
