Hawarden Independent of Jun 25, 1914 A Young Life Gone.
Hjalmer Johnson who was brought to the Hawarden hospital from Big Springs a couple of weeks ago passed away last evening. He was afflicted with spinal tubercular trouble and his serious condition was not realized until a short time before he was brought here for treatment. The deceased is a son of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Johnson of Alcester, pioneer residents of Union county. He was 25 years of age and was born on the family homestead near Big Springs. Besides his aged parents he leaves four brothers and five sister to mourn his death. The funeral will be held at Big Springs.
