Mrs. Fred D. Hilgens (Helgens) died Monday afternoon at her home in Washington Township, five miles south of Ireton, after an illness of only a few days from a rupture caused by gall stone. The funeral services were held at the home today and interment was made in the Craig cemetery. Marska Johnson was born at Mt Olive IL, April 17, 1859. She came to Plymouth County with her parents in 1886 and was untied in marriage to Fred D. Hilgens March 9, 1888. They resided in Plymouth county for a number of years and moved onto their present farm in Sioux County thirteen years ago. Besides the husband, three daughters and two sons are left to mourn her death. The children are Mrs. Anna Schultz of Le Mars and Mary , Rena, John and Mike. All were at the bedside of their mother in her last hours. Besides her family she leaves five brothers and two sisters. They are Mike Johnson of Ireton, Richard Johnson and Mrs. Fred Eilers of Le Mars, John Edward and Charles Johnson and Mrs. Onno Croon of Craig. The bereaved family and brothers and sisters have the sympathy of all in their sorrow.
