Mrs. Engeldinger was taken sick last April and had been in poor health ever since although she was up and around until the last day. She suffered a stroke of apoplexy at ten o’clock and passed away at 12:15 that night with the children all present at her bedside during her last moments. She passed away peacefully fortified by the last sacred rites of her church of which she had been a lifelong member.

Mrs. Emma Engel dinger, nee Emma Masuen, was born at Harlingen Luxembourg Aug 31, 1800 (1860), where she lived until 20 years of age when, in company with her father she came to America ..(line of print illegible)...the family.

In the fall of 1882 she was united in marriage to Peter Engeldinger of Le Mars and settled on a farm six miles south of Alton where she resided until two years ago when she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Mike Zenk, two miles east of Alton.

Mrs. Engeldinger was the mother of nine children, John, Mrs. Frank Hemmen, Mrs. George Jungers, Mike, Emil, Mrs. Mike Zenk, Mrs. Joe Joanning, and two dying in infancy.
