Find a Grave lists Jantje Beyer nee Vande Steeg born 15 Jun 1849 Ede Gelderland Neth. died 29 Apr 1915 Orange City IA buried in West Lawn Cemetery. Her parents were Jacoba Piet Van der Hoef 1818-1863, and Gerrit Van de Steeg 1820-1900 Orange City IA.

Mrs. G. Beyer died at her home at Orange City on April 29th of apoplexy at the age of 88 years. Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Vande Steeg and was born in the Netherlands on July 15, 1849. In 1857 she came to the United States and on May 14, 1870 she became a Sioux county resident. Two years later , June, she was untied in marriage to Gerrit Beyer. This union was blessed with ten children, seven of whom, with the father, Mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother. The funeral services were held on Monday of this week from the Beyer home and the Reformed church. The services were in charge of Rev. Engelsman. Interment was made in the Orange City cemetery. The following are the surviving children: Mrs. Ed Franken of Tabor Alberta Canda; Dr. Hart Beyer of Pittsville, WI; Mrs. B. H. Masselink of Grand Rapids MI; Mrs. G. Vogelaar of Litchville, N. D.: Miss Bertha of Orange City, Mrs. W. Van Steenbergen of Sioux Center, and Gerrit Beyer Jr. of Orange City IA.
