Hawarden Independent of Apr 18,1912 Grandma Mc Danial Gone!
Died last Thursday at the home of her daughter in this City. Mrs. Caroline McDaniel died last Thursday morning at the home of her daughter Mrs. Frank Lucky, after an illness of some months duration.

The deceased came to Hawarden about a year ago to make her home with her daughter. Early last winter she fell upon a icy walk and sustained serious injuries, with the infirmities of her age, caused her much suffering, bit she bore it all with fortitude.

Brief funeral services were conducted at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lucky Friday afternoon by Rev. H. C. Nissen, after which the body was taken to Fredonia, this state, for interment. Mrs. Lucky and her daughter, Mrs. W.S. Gillan of Doon, accompanied the remains to Fredonia.

Caroline Limbarker was born at Scipio, Jennings County Indiana, Nov. 9, 1822, where she continued to reside until her marriage to William Butler Oct 3, 1889. Soon after their marriage they removed to Fredonia, Louisa County IA. To this union fifteen children were born, six of who died in infancy.
Nine of them grew to maturity, but three preceded their mother in death. Her husband was a soldier in the civil war, enlisting in Co. E. 14th Iowa Vols, Jan 6 1862, at Fredonia IA. He was wounded and died in the hospital at St. Louis MO, April 16 1862.

She was married again Oct 22,, 1870 to Simon Mc Daniel whose death occurred Dec 3, 1890. Since the death of her second husband she continued to make her home among her children.

Those left to mourn the loss of a kind and indulgent mother are John Butler of Omaha, Mrs. Nelia Bridenstein of Oklahoma, Mrs. Sarah Christalier of Cedarville, KS, D. W. Butler of Portland OR, A. H. Bulter of Tucumcari N. M. and Mrs. Jennie Lucky of this city.
