The people of Hospers and community were saddened on Friday morning to hear of the sudden passing of one of their pioneers Mr. Henry Stoll Sr. who passed away quietly in his sleep on Friday morning March 6, 1952 at this home on the northeast edge of Hospers here he resided practically all his life. Mr. Stoll was born April 30, 1867 at Detroit Mich. In his youth he moved to western IA and attended school at Le mars.
He married Mayr Goshey in Wisc. The couple set up housekeeping on the home place where he passed away. He is survived by his wife and 6 children namely Simon, Louis, Henry and Philomena all of Hospers, Elizabeth Mrs. a. e. Kellen of Alton, and Father Peter Stoll of East Troy WI, also many grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was a devout member of St. Anthony’s church, also the Holy Name Society.Funeral services were held on Monday morning at 10 a.m. and from St. Anthony’s “Church. The celebrant to the Mass being his son Father Perer Stoll assisted by Fr. John Thoennissen of Hospers his pastor, Fr. Zeno Reinsing of Alton and Fr. Wingert of Sheldon. Interment was in St. Anthony’s cemetery.
