The baby son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Den Hartog of Woodstock MN died at the Gerrit Van Laar home on Wednesday of lung trouble. Mrs. Den Hartog and baby came about three weeks ago for an extended visit at the home of Mrs. Gerrit Van Laar who is Mrs. Den Hartog’s sister The little one had not been well for some time and it passed away on Wednesday evening. Mr. Den Hartog arrive in Alton on Thursday morning The funeral services will be held at the Van Laar home this Saturday morning at nine o’clock and will be conducted by Rev. J. P De Jong. Interment will be made in Nassau township cemetery.

This baby Gerrit was the ninth child of twelve children listed. He was listed as Giebhart ‘Gerrit’ Den Hartog born 15 Aug 1910 Rock Twp Pipestone MN died 22 May 1912 Alton IA.
