Word reached Hull Monday afternoon, the Robert Lynch and old and respected citizen of Grant township and known to many of our readers had dropped dead that day while out in the field. He was on of the earliest settler of that township and a man of sterling worth.

Robert S. Linch was born 4 Jan 1833 Wheeling WVA died 25 Apr 1910 Grant Twp. Sioux County IA. son of Robert Linch 1804 and Eliza Ellen Miller 1807, he married Margaret E. Allemong 1832-1914. They had children – Franklin Linch 1859-1930 and Chester Linch 1864-1942.
