Foppe ‘Frank’ De Graaf died at his home in Newkirk on Wednesday June first from lung fever and pleurisy. Deceased was born at Terschelling Netherlands on February tenth 1848. He came to this country in 1867 and moved to Sioux county in 1873. He engaged in the mason trade and plastered several buildings in Alton of the pioneer. He then became a farmer and s successful one and has resided near Newkirk for more than twenty five years. His wife passes away on April the ninth at Newkirk. Deceased is survived by one sister Mrs. De Graaf of New Kirk and six children as follow: Dick De Graaf of Middleburg, Mrs. Gerrit Vander wilt of Middleburg, Mrs. John Roetman and Mrs. Albert Klein of Hospers and Peter and Andrew De Graaf of Newkirk. The funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at one o’clock from the house and one thirty for the Reformed church at Newkirk. Rev. Van Duine of Alton will have charge of the services.
