Hawarden Independent of May 13, 1909 A Saddened Home.
The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hornby passed away on Thursday of last week after a four months struggle for life. The little boy twin has thriven from its birth, but the little girl has been delicate and like a dainty frost nipped flower it drooped its head and died.
The blow falls with stunning force upon the bereaved family, for wrapped as it was in a mother’s love, sheltered by a father’s care and ministered to by fond sisters they had just dared begin to hope that it might live, but the angels needed another blossom for the wreath immortal so they took little Mary home. The sorrowing parents left on Friday for Egan, where the baby was tenderly laid to rest in the family burying ground.
