Hagert, Barbara born Sep 9, 1826 (or 9 Nov 1825) 82 yrs 6 mo 20 days, a widow, Born Germany died Mar 27, 1909 (or 29 Mar 1908) at Matlock, parents Greene and wife Barbara, she died of cancer.

Find A Grave has a Barbara Hagert nee’ Green born Germany died 29 Mar 1908 Ashton IA burin in the Quaker cemetery Geroge IA.

Listed in the De Volksvriend of May 27 1909 deaths at 82 years. County’s old citizens.

There are two many similarities with the different information as not to be the same person. She must have died in Sioux county but was living in Osceola County Iowa, as was members of her family also living in Grant Tsp Sioux County in this time period.

From a report on ancestry.com done by others, Barbara Green (Gruen) was born 9 Nov 1825 Bayden Germany died 29 Mar 1908 Ashton IA. She was the wife of first William Lauber 1825-1859 having Three Lauber children. Then she married Frederick Hagert 1821-1896 Stephenson Co. IL. They had children Katherine Lauber (Mrs. Thomas Hannan) 1855 -1933 Ashton IA; Elizabeth Hagert (Mrs. William Washer) 1861-1956 MN They lived in the Matlock area for some time; and Freddie Hagert1862-1902 KS.

Assumption is that since two daughters lived in the Ashton and Matlock areas at approximately the time of her death, this has to be one and the same Barbara Green/Hagert.

1860 census of Freeport Stephenson Co. IL lists Fred Hagert 38, Barbary 34, John 7 and Catherine 5.
