Lindsey Ann (Grevengoed) Van Roekel was born on February 16, 1978 in Sioux Center, Iowa. She is the daughter of Jay and LeAnn (Janssen) Grevengoed. Lindsey grew up in the Rock Valley, IA area and attended Rock Valley Community School, graduating in 1996. Lindsey moved to Sioux Falls, SD in 1998 and attended the University of Sioux Falls, graduating in 2000. In 2006, Lindsey's dream of becoming a mother came true when Tyler was born and again in 2010, when Kellen completed their family with her former spouse, Troy Van Roekel. Lindsey loved to travel, taking her boys on wonderful vacations. She loved to experience new things and encouraged the boys to do the same. Her boys were her life. She loved them with all of her heart. Nothing brought more joy to her than watching her boys doing what made them happy. She was their biggest cheerleader and loved watching them at all of their sporting and school events. She will forever be watching over them and cheering them on in everything they do.

Throughout her life, outside from being an amazing mother, Lindsey was a very adored daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed cooking (her favorite guests being her mom and dad), being mischievous with her beloved sister/partner in crime, camping, shopping, concerts, dinners out with friends and was a professional organizer and planner of all of the things. No one ever had to worry about planning a thing when Lindsey was involved. When everyone showed up under prepared, Lindsey always showed up OVER prepared.

For the last 23 years, Lindsey worked in the banking industry. During the last 15 years she a very loyal employee at First Bank and Trust where she worked as a Mortgage Closing Team Lead. For several years Lindsey also worked at the Attic Bar and Grill, where she enjoyed seeing many friendly faces. Community minded, she was involved with the Sioux Empire United Way and Sioux Falls Cares.

Lindsey arrived in Heaven on Saturday, June 24, 2023 and was greeted by the love of her life, Jason. She will be very missed by her sons, Tyler (16) and Kellen (13); parents, Jay and LeAnn Grevengoed; sister, Lachlyn Grevengoed; brothers, Jayson (Amy) and Keaton (Katie); nephews, Julien, Jaxsen, Blake, Cade and Trent, Cooper and Walker Grevengoed; the most spoiled niece, Bexley Grevengoed, and spunky dog, Riley.

Lindsey was preceded in death by her brother, Kory Grevengoed, grandparents, Melvin and Joyce (Hass) Janssen; Jake and Alice (Van Otterloo) Grevengoed; and aunt, Lori Clark.

A visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 7400 S. Minnesota Ave Sioux Falls, on Friday, June 30 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Celebration of life will be held at Embrace Church, 2800 E 57th St Sioux Falls, on Saturday, July 1 at 10:00 a.m. Please join us for refreshments after the service. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Rock Valley, Iowa at 1:30 p.m. following refreshments at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Lindsey Van Roekel Memorial fund at First Bank and Trust for future scholarship funds for Tyler and Kellen.

Our hearts are broken and we will miss Lindsey every day, but we look forward to rejoicing in the memories we have all made with her.
