OBITUARY
Union Grove – Rollin Eggleston, 88, passed away March 17, 2023 at Oak Ridge Care Center. He was born April 22, 1934 to Alden Rollin and Della (nee Nelson) Eggleston upstairs of the train depot in Rock Valley, Iowa. After graduating high school, Rollin was a mustang, enlisted in the Navy and went to FT (Fire Control Technician) school. Made it to Chief Petty Officer (CPO) along the way getting his bachelors degree from Westmar College, went to OCS came out a line officer and made it to 04 Lt. Commander. After retirement from the Navy, He taught math and science working for the Saudi Arabian Navy. After returning th the U.S. he spent 19 years as a navel science instructor (NJROTC) at Cleveland Junior Naval Academy for St. Louis Public Schools.

Rollin enjoyed traveling, taking road trips and visiting with family and friends. His free time was often spent exercising and jogging.
Rollin is survived by his children, Oanh Eggleston, April Anne (Anthony) Luttrell, and Alden (Alison) Eggleston; grandchildren, Roxanne (Eric) Augustine, and Rollin and Madison Eggleston; and great-grandchild, Charles Augustine; and brother-in-law, Lauren (Susan) Lind.

Rollin was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie (nee Lind); infant children, Andrew and Angela; and siblings, Christine (Joseph) DiPirro, Cleo (William) Kosters, and Nelson (Sarah) Eggleston.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Miller-Reesman Funeral Home on March 25 from 11 am -1 pm. Prayer service will begin at 1 pm followed by full military honors. Burial will take place privately later in Alcester, SD.
