Gourley, John born 96 yrs Widower, born Ireland. Parents Mr. Gourley and Jane Mc Keoun. Died Dec 30, 1906. Garfield Tsp. Died of old age. Source Sioux County death records He was 82 in the 1895 Iowa state census.

John Gourley the aged father of James Gourley who lives down about half way between Rock Valley and Hudson, died Sunday at the ripe age of 92 yr. The deceased was a member of the Catholic Church, much respected by every one who knew him. The funeral was held from St. Mary’s church of this place Tuesday.
