Dykstra, Geertje ‘Gertrude’ Mrs. John born July 27, 1839 age 29 yrs at Groningen, Neth. died Sep 25, 1907 Orange City died of neurasthenia. Her parents were Roelf Smilde and Henderika Schuik. Source Sioux county death record.

Her husband Jan Dykstra was born Aug 1838 Neth. lived in Orange City in 1900 census.

The funeral of Mrs. J. Dykstra who died Wednesday was held Friday afternoon at the first Reformed church. Addresses were made by Rev. Douwstra of Middleburg and by Rev. J. P. Winter of this city. Mrs. J. Dykstra was born in 1838 at Groningen in the Netherlands, in 1876 she was untied in marriage to John Dykstra. In 1881 Mr. and Mrs. Dykstra came to this country and settled in this city where they have since lived. The deceased leaves behind her an aged husband and three sons, Henry, Roelof and Yelte.
