Brady James Netten went to his heavenly home May 4, 2023. Brady was born May 27, 1980 to Robert and Rhonda (Niemeyer) Netten. Brady began school at River Valley at the age of three. After completing his schooling, he moved to the Northside Group home in Hull where he lived for 15 years and worked various jobs through Hope Haven. In 2017, Brady moved home to live with his parents.

Brady brought so much joy to everyone he met. He was not born with a disability but with a special gift. His contagious smile, affectionate hugs, and infectious personality brought happiness to all who knew him. Brady loved his mom and dad, brothers, nieces, nephews, church family, and his Boyden-Hull Comets. Brady was awarded “Best Fan of the Game” at the Iowa State Basketball Boys Tournament. He loved coaching Comet basketball for many, many years. Brady would watch the Comet boys’ basketball game films on VHS and would offer his expertise and ideas for how to win the game. Brady also loved participating in the Special Olympics and earned numerous medals at state competition. The number of losing seasons his beloved Chicago Bears endured even had him contemplating becoming a Dallas Cowboys fan, but he was always a Bears fan at heart. Brady’s heart was full of love and laughter.

Even though Brady struggled with his health, he showed up ready to visit his family and friends with a smile. Brady didn’t know a stranger. He enjoyed going out to eat, watching WWE, going on UTV rides, dancing, singing along to the Beach Boys, and spending time with his friends and family. He was proud of his birthday and loved celebrating the whole month of May. Brady loved life and lived it with a smile on his face.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Bob and Rhonda Netten of Boyden, IA; and brothers: Chad and Temple Netten and their children Creighton, Aydn, Finley, and Aniston of Van Meter, IA; Wade and Jill Netten and their children Parker and Emersyn of Little Rock, IA; Derrik and Gina Netten and their children Ellia, Christian, Gabriel, Grayson and River of Orange City, IA; Grandma Claretta and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Peter and Jeanette Netten, and maternal grandparents, Bill and Hester Niemeyer.
