Brian Majeres, 75, of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Orange City Area Health System in Orange City, Iowa.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Pastor B.J. Van Kalsbeek from Sunnybrook Community Church in Sioux City will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the Wasmer American Legion Post 241 of Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be Memory Sharing at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Rexwinkel Funeral Home in Le Mars. Brian Cecil Majeres, the son of Melvin and Blanche (Baker) Majeres, was born December 7, 1947 in Le Mars, Iowa. He began his schooling at Gehlen Catholic in Le Mars. He graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1968.

He enlisted in the United States Army in June of 1968. He served his country while stationed in Germany and later in Vietnam. After returning to the states, he joined the Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1975.

After returning to Le Mars, he began working as an auto mechanic for the Chevy garage. Over the years, with hard work and determination, Brian opened and operated Brian’s Auto Service. He served his customers, family and friends with honesty, fairness, and dedication for over 40 years. In turn, they gave him their trust. Due to health reasons, he closed his shop in 2016.

Brian married Patricia Renken Shultz on May 30, 2003.

They enjoyed fishing, gardening, trying their luck at the casinos, camping, and traveling throughout the United States. He enjoyed people! He loved doing things and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved campfires and visiting with his friends and family. He was so loved by all and will be so missed. Brian was a member of the Wasmer American Legion Post 241 of Le Mars and former member of the Le Mars Eagle’s Club.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Le Mars; 2 step sons and their families: Michael (Janet) Shultz of Windsor, CO, and their children, Hunter and Avery; and Justin (Maria) Shultz of Sioux City, IA, and their children, Jadanne, Jayce, Mason, and Jurni; his siblings: Dennis (Deanna) Majeres of Newburgh, IN, Marlene Manning of Le Mars, IA, Lavonne (Dave) Ott of Le Mars, IA, and Myron (Margaret) Majeres of Le Mars, IA; his in laws: Jerry (Shirley) Renken of Beresford, SD, Jim (Beverly) Renken of Alcester, SD, and Karen (Tod) Schlenger of Hartley, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Blanche Majeres; his father and mother-in-law, Walter and Edith Renken; and a brother-in-law, Nick Manning.
