As a lifelong Catholic, Jerry completed his earthly journey on March 30, 2023, after a long illness and is now celebrating his eternal life with God. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 10:00 am, with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 am on April 14, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 5450 S. Lemay Ave., Fort Collins, CO.

Jerry was born in Hospers, IA on May 23, 1935. He was the 5th child of Aloysius and Rose (Niichel) Hoffmann. Jerry grew up on a farm near Hospers, attended elementary school at St. Anthony’s in Hospers, and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Alton, IA in 1953. He then went to school in Omaha area and then began his career as Parts Man at Ford Dealerships and also worked for Peterbilt Trucking Industry, then onto his ever-favorite job as punch list man, with Custom-On-Site Home Builders.
He married Jeannie (Boyle) Weinrich on Sept 2, 1982 in Sioux City, IA. It was when a career location transfer for Jeannie made it necessary to move to Loveland, CO where he resided until his death. Jerry loved living in Colorado, always enjoyed visits from family and friends, spending time with all the children that came our way and being a “pretend” Grandpa. In addition, he lived his Colorado days by hiking the mountains and doing his Intarsia woodworking projects.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jeannie and his children Mike (Carolyn) Hoffmann of Murphy, TX; Michele Hoffmann, Arvada Colorado; Marty (Christine) Hoffmann of Gaithersburg, MD; Brett Weinrich of Chicago, IL; and Nichole (Patrick) O’Duffy of Melbourne, Australia; and 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
