Sunday afternoon at St. Joseph’s church in this city, occurred the funeral of Mrs. John Schwartz, Mrs. Schwartz had been sick for some time but her death came unexpected.

1900 Census of East Orange Tsp Sioux county Iowa list John Schwarz age 62, a widower, born Germany came to USA in 1869, a farmer, living with Herman J. son, 28 years, and daughter Maggie Schwarz Schmidt and husband George E. Schmidt 30, with grand children John Schmidt 3 and Herman J. Schmidt 1 year.

Found a family report on ancestry.com done by other than this submitter, Johann Anton Schwarz born 1837 Tondorf Germany died 10 Feb 1908 Granville, IA. He married Margareth Schwarz born 7 Mar 1829 Tondorf Germany and died 26 May 1899 Granville IA, she is said to be the daughter of Hubert Richard and Anna Maria Pehl. They were the parents of several children including the two listed in the 1900 census.
