PLEUN DE ZEEUW EARLY RESIDENT CAME TO SIOUX COUNTY AS YOUNG MAN - MIDDLEBURG HIS HOME MANY YEARS
Pleun De Zeeuw of Middleburg passed away at his home early Saturday morning after an illness of about six weeks. He was apparently recovering from his illness and was able to be up when suddenly stricken with paralysis a week before his death. He would have been 74 years of age Saturday of this week.

Funeral services were held at the home at one o'clock and at the First Ref. church at two o'clock, in charge of Rev. Geo. Douwstra of Hull.
Mr. De Zeeuw was born in the Netherlands and came to the United States when 15 years of age. From Pella he came with the early settlers to Sioux county. On Nov. 29th, he was married at Orange City to Miss Anna Van Veldhuizen and the couple went to live on a homestead near Middleburg. There they continued to make their home until eight years ago, when they retired from the farm and moved to Middleburg. Mr. De Zeeuw was active in the church and community, where he was respected and honored. He is survived by his wife and eleven children, namely: Mrs. E. De Leeuw, of Boyden; Jake De Zeeuw, Sheldon; Paul De Zeeuw, Middleburg; Mrs. Jake Verrips, Sioux Center; Mrs. John Hubbeling, Sheldon; Mrs. Bert Keizer, Peter, William and Rufus De Zeeuw, all of Middleburg; Mrs. John Groen and Mrs. Cornie Den Hartog of Orange City
