Ed Lynott 185-1940 and Mary Scanlon 1867-1948 had five children who died in infancy see their obits for more family information.

Hawarden Independent of Nov 24, 1904 Died from Diphtheria. The little three year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lynott, residing one mile south of town, died Sunday from diphtheria. The child was sick with the dread disease only about twenty four hours. A little daughter is also afflicted but at last reports was getting along nicely. As some of the other children had been attending St. Anthony’s and the public schools, it was decided as a precautionary measure to close both schools. The sympathy of all is extended Mr. and Mrs. Lynott in their deep affliction.
