The Ireton Weekly Ledger reported in the Jan 13th issue that Mrs. J. (Jacob) A. Lindenman is seriously ill at this writing.

Tuesday evening at 6:30 occurred the death of Mrs. Eliza Lindenmen. After six weeks of intense suffering in which her life was many times despaired of the angel of death swiftly, silently folded her to his arms and left only the clay. All deaths are sad but hers was particularly sad. She had lingered so long and there was so much hope of her ultimate recovery; even she herself thought she would again be well and able to attend to the duties of a loving wife and mother as heretofore, but all hopes were in vain and she passed peacefully away to that better land where all care and suffering is unknown. The cause of her death was premature child birth complicated with lung fever.

Mrs. Lindenman was born April 13, 1875 at Teurentbhal, Canton Argau, Switzerland. On Sepember 20 1896, she came to Ireton from Switzerland and was married to J. A. Lindenman four weeks later. At the time of her death her age was 29 years, 10 months and 8 days. Besides a sorrowing husband, four children are left to mourn her loss, the oldest being 7 and the youngest 2 ½ years of age. The funeral will take place this Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at St. Paul’s Lutheran church Rev. Hugo Grimm conducting the services in both the German and the English languages. The interment will be held in St. Paul’s cemetery.

Their children were Emma Elise 1897-1980, Fred William 1899-1959, Freda 1901-1974 and Arthur Emil 1902-1983.
