Larry Kleinhesselink, age 75, of Sheldon, Iowa passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at his home in Sheldon, Iowa. His Memorial Service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the First Reformed Church in Sheldon, Iowa with Rev. Dave Van Kley ~ officiating.

Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa at 9:45 A.M. on Thursday, June 9, 2022

Visitation with the family present will be at 5:00 – 7:00P.M. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sheldon, Iowa.

Arrangements are under the care of the Andringa Funeral Home in Sheldon.

Larry Dale Kleinhesselink, the son of Henry W. and Hattie (Nibbelink) Kleinhesselink was born on January 16, 1947 in Orange City, IA. He received his education in Orange City. On November 25, 1966, he was united in marriage to Patricia Hofmeyer in the Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon, IA. Larry joined the United States Army in 1967 and for a year and a half the couple made their home in Germany. Larry was discharged in 1969 and they returned to Sheldon to make their home. Larry est. L-K Construction in 1972. Larry passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at his home in Sheldon, Iowa with his family by his side, reaching the age of 75 years, 4 months and 19 days.
Larry was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon, and was a Deacon for 2 terms. He was also a member of the Sheldon Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing ball with the kids and attending their sporting events. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events and making a crib, a Cedar Chest and other woodworking projects. He enjoyed being in his skid loader and working with his hands. He was very active in the community, volunteering a lot of his time and work. He enjoyed holding his dog, Lucky.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 55 years, Pat; and their children, Lori (Joe) Pohlen of Hospers, IA; Kevin (Staci) Kleinhesselink; Trisha (Ryan) Cannoy and Justin (Kellye) Kleinhesselink all of Sheldon, IA; 16 grandchildren, Dr. Emily (Richard) Wilcox III, Joseph , Jamie, Cindy, Larissa and Lucas Pohlen, Colby (Amanda) Kleinhesselink, Jaden (and his friend, Carley Seivert) Kleinhesselink, Maliah and Makenna Kleinhesselink, Brianna, Jonathan and Alexis Cannoy, Harper, Beckham and Willow Kleinhesselink and a great-granddaughter, Elowyn Wilcox. He is also survived by a brother, Harlan (Diane) Kleinhesselink of Orange City, IA and 2 sisters, Helen (Pete) Pals of Orange City, IA and Norma (Kevin) Ward of Iowa City, IA; and a brother-in-law, Perry Van Gorp of Sioux Center, IA and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents, Henry W. and Hattie Kleinhesselink; his in-laws, Howard and Geraldine Hofmeyer; a sister, Joan Van Gorp; and 2 brothers-in-law, George and Eldon Hofmeyer.
