Henry “Hank” Boeve age 95 of Rock Rapids, Iowa died Friday morning, June 3, 2022, at Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids, IA.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids with the Rev. Travis Remme officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids.

Henry Boeve was born on June 30, 1926 on a farm north of Hull, Iowa the son of John and Effie Boeve. He grew up on the family farm south of Rock Rapids and attended country school #4. He was drafted into the Marine Corp February 1952 through February 1954. After his honorable discharge he returned to farming with his dad.

On June 9, 1955 he married Helen Boscaljon in the United Methodist parsonage in Rock Rapids. Then on October 3, 1955 their son Jim was born. Daughter Pat followed December 10, 1957. He retired from farming in 1991 and enjoyed camping, collecting toy tractors and going on day trips with Cliff by way of the scenic route! On March 26, 2019 he entered Lyon Specialty Care and remained there until his death on June 3, 2022.

Henry was a member of the United Methodist church and a member of the Rex Strait American Legion Post 103.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years Helen of Rock Rapids, IA; daughter Pat (Paul) Doherty of Magnolia, MN; daughter-in-law Marcia Boeve-Alfano ( Vince) of Luverne, MN; 5 grandchildren, Mikel (Leah) Boeve of Bloomington, MN, Rashel (Erik) Selden of Eden Prairie MN, Derek (Nicole) Boeve of Eagan MN, Sara (Anthony) Lingen of Brandon, SD and Erin (Ryder) Reed of Rochester, MN; Along with 9 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Dorothy (Richard) Wollmuth of Alexandria, MN; a niece, nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his son Jim, parents John and Effie, brother Dick (Gert) Boeve, sisters Pearl (Tony) Medema, Gert (Loren) Brown, niece Anna Marie Medema and in-laws Arie and Della Boscaljon.
