Adrian Kruid, age 85, of Sioux Center, Iowa died Monday, July 4, 2022 at Sioux Center Health.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Drenten officiating. Interment will follow the service in Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton, Iowa with military honors from American Legion Post No. 200.

There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family prefer memorial be directed to Hope Haven in Rock Valley.

Adrian Henry Kruid was born March 11, 1937 in Carnes, Iowa, the son of James and Elizabeth (Boone) Kruid. He attended Ireton and Hawarden Country Schools. On August 28, 1958 Adrian was united in marriage to Greeta Jane Hofland in Orange City, Iowa.

Adrian enlisted in the United States Army on September 2, 1959 and served until his honorable discharge on August 31, 1965. Adrian worked at Schmitz Implement as a mechanic from1955 to 1962. He began farming in 1962 until his retirement in 2002. In the past Adrian served on the church council. He enjoyed doing mechanic work and going on tractor rides in parades. His biggest joy was farming.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Greeta; son, Daryl Lee Kruid; siblings, Gretta Huenink of Lincoln, NE, Elmer Kruid of Ireton, IA, Elaine Hofland of Orange City, IA, Esther Willes of Georgia and Geneva Janssen of Kansas; along with nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elizabeth; infant daughter, Audrey Jean; siblings, Ella Marie Regnurus, Gerrit Kruid, Hermina Vande Kamp, James Kruid Jr., Evelyn Kamstra, Melvin Kruid, Geraldine Kruid, Arlene Driesen; and three infant siblings, Donna Mae, Marcella Jane, and Lester Duane.
