WELL KNOWN O.C. WOMAN PASSES ON
Mrs. O. H. Hinds Was Early LeMars Resident

Mrs. O. H. Hinds of Orange City passed on at 1:15 A.M. the morning of July 4th, after an illness of several weeks. An early resident of LeMars, where Mr. Hinds was owner of the LeMars Gas Co., she came to Orange City nineteen years ago to be near her only daughter, Mrs. Wm. H. Hospers.

Eva Terrell was born in Sterling, Ill., on Sept. 9th, 1861, and had not reached her 80th birthday at the time of her death. She was married on Sept. 9, 1885, at Cherokee, to O. H. Hinds and the couple moved soon after to LeMars, where Mr. Hinds was a well known business man.

Mrs. Hospers is the only living child, one son, Albert, having died at Denver in 1930, and one child in infancy. A niece, Miss Clara Roach of Berkeley, Calif., was reared in the Hinds home and survives Mrs. Hinds, also four grandchildren—Jackson, Lois and Marjorie Hospers of Orange City and Marlon Hospers of Chicago.

Mrs. Hinds was one of a family of five brothers and sisters, of whom two survive, namely W. H. Terrell of Forest Park, Ill., and Mrs. T. G. Christmas of Brooklyn, N.Y. The latter is well known in Sioux county, having frequently visited her sister and niece at Orange City.

She was a member of the American Reformed church and the Ladies Aid Society of that church. Mrs. Hinds was devoted to her family, a charming and hospitable hostess and was loved by many friends.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday, with interment in the LeMars cemetery, where many old-time friends gathered to pay a loving tribute.
