He married Adriaantje ‘Jantje’ Kramenburg born 22 aug 1859 Rhoon Zuid Holland Netherlands died 15 Nov 1896 Sioux County IA they had three still born daughters 1884, 1887, and 1888, Heiltje 1895 – 1896 lived only abt one year.

In the 1920 census he and wife Nellie were living in Manns Stutsman ND. With children Willie 26, Annie 18, Hilda 15, and Gertrude 12.
