Source – Sioux County Death Records lists Pieter Snyders single male, farmer age 22 born 1859 Niewe Diep, North Holland, Netherlands died 25 Aug 1881 Orange City, IA.

The village of Nieuwe Diep is in the province of Drenthe.

Mr. Snyders a young man who arrived from the old country about two weeks ago, died Wednesday and was buried today.

This young man posed difficulty to trace. His birth stated in the Death records was abt 1859 at Niewe Diep North Holland. According to Wiki there is no village in North Holland by that name. There is/was a village in Drenthe by that name.

Then much time was spent trying to trace a Pieter Snyders which could be Snyder, Snijder, Snijders,Sneider, Sneiders, Snider, and etc etc on the web site www.wiewaswie.nl and did not positively give an affirmative hit.
