The little son of Boy Smith is very ill this week. Wife Addy. 1897 moved to Hawarden.

Since printing the other side of this issue, the little son of Boy Smith has died. He died of spinal meningitis. He was a bright little fellow, six years of age and The Democrat sympathizes with the afflicted parents.

With numerous Smith families in the area the submitter was unable to identify the actual parents of this child possible named Henry or Harry. Boy was the nick name of the Father. Was the son H. or the father’s actual first name initial? A clue in related newspaper tidbits was that the family originated from the Dubuque IA area so most likely were of the Catholic faith.
