Valeria Arens-Alesch Remsen Iowa: Mrs. Laurence (Valeria) Alesch, 81, of Remsen died Tuesday, Dee 17,1991 at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after a brief illness. .... Mrs. Alesch was born July 4,1910, rural Remsen, the daughter of Jim and Mollie (Kennedy) Arens. She was raised and educated in the Remsen area. She married Laurence Alesch Jan 12,1937, at Remsen. The couple farmed in the Remsen area. In 1956 they moved to the Alton area where they farmed until retiring in 1968, when they moved into Alton. Mr. Alesch died Oct 16,1980, and she moved to Remsen in the fall of 1982. Mrs. Alesch was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Christian Mother and Catholic Daughters of America. Survivors include four sons, Bob of Alton, Dick of Alpharett, GA; Thomas of Denison and Michael of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Mary) Schmidt of Des Moines and Mrs. Joseph (Kathleen) Baker of Cardville, MN; 10 grandchildren; one brother Jim Arens of LeMars; six sisters, Mrs. Martin (Phyllis) Englert; Mrs. Ed (Helen) Jaminet; Mrs. Gene (Mary) Loutsch; Mrs. Louis (Doris) Wurth and Mrs. Leander (Jane) Konz all of Remsen and Mrs. Leonard (Ester) Konz of Alton; and two sister-in-law, Mrs. Kenneth(Elvira) Arens and Mrs. Oswald (Doris) Arens both of Remsen. She was preceded in death by a son, John; two daughters, Alice and Patricia; and two brothers, Kenneth and Oswald Arens. Rites in Texas for John Alesch John Alesch 34, of Dallas, Texas died Wednesday, March 15,1989 at his home. .... Mr. Alesch was born April 14,1954 in LeMars, Iowa, son of Laurence and Valerie (Arens) Alesch. In 1955 he and his parents moved to Alton, Iowa, where he was raised and educated. He graduated from Spalding High School in 1972, He attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City for two years and then transferred to Mt Marty as a registered nurse. Mr. Alesch worked as a registered nurse at the veterans hospital at Iowa City for about four years. He then moved to Dallas where he was employed by the veterans hospital there. Survivors are his mother, Valeria Alesch of Remsen; four brothers, Robert of Alton, Richard of Dalton, GA, Thomas of Denison, and Michael of Sioux City; three sisters, Mrs. Ron (Mary) Schmidt of DesMoines Kathleen Alesch, Cardville, MN and Patricia Alesch, Glenwood. He was preceded in death by his father on Oct 16,1980 and one sister, Alice Alesch.
